Most golfers are fully aware that golf is a complicated game should I say and when we watch the golfers on the TV, we know they make it look super simple. So, why do we see driving ranges and practice ground crumbed full of people who were working on things making the game super, super complicated and I apologize if I've ever added to the complications is never intended. I'm always trying to present tips and answers to golfer’s questions in the simplest format, so a golfer can go away and practice on that one specific thing.
The risk is with a plethora of information out there from magazines, from TV, from friends, from the internet is that golfers stand on the practice ground or the golf course with too many swing thoughts, too many ideas in their heads. So, within this next little miniseries we’re going to try and get back to some fundamentals. Get back to some basics of a good solid golf swing if you like; because I think you'll appreciate; but you probably play your own best golf and certainly the best players in the world will play their best golf when they’ve got one or maybe two swings thoughts.
Golfers generally don’t play great when they’re not thinking about anything. If you go out there and you're not thinking about anything there is a risk that all the negative thoughts creep into your mind or you start doubting yourself a little bit too much. A golfer that plays with warm solid swing thought, they ought to be something simple just like wide or slow or turn, something like that just keeps the game nice and simple. Stops the negative thoughts creeping into a golfers head and keep the positive thoughts right where they need to be at the forefront of your mind; but likewise a golfer is not going to be great if it's I've got to be wide, I've got to be slow, I've got to turn, then I've got to lift and then I've got to drive and that peaks at this and then I read something about doing this as they swing the club that’s not going to work for them either.
So, let’s get back to some good solid fundamentals making the golf swing as simple as possible, of banishing those complicated swing thoughts to the back of our minds.
