Louis Oostheizen Pro Golfer, Swing Sequence (Video) - by Pete Styles

I’m going to talk to you now about a guy called Louis Oosthuizen interesting character, Major Champion and Open winner. And I actually had the fortune of having Louis Oosthuizen come down to the driving range here and practice just two weeks after he won the Open at St. Andrews. And I have to tell you a little bit of a story about this and it doesn’t really reflect well on me, because I didn’t recognize him. He was down here dressed in his jeans and his trainer, just with his family just hitting a few balls. His management have a stable here when he was close and he was just staying in the house here for a few weeks. Just relaxing after the Open, decided to come and hit some balls. And I walked straight past him didn’t recognize him at all.

And then I saw him make a swing and I thought, “well I don’t know who that guy is but he is certainly a bit of a player”, so I actually spend a better time watching him. Then I realized who it was, you know without the glasses and the big hat and the big tall bag and everything, I didn’t recognize the guy but as soon as you see him make a swing you think this guy can play. And if I was to do a swing analysis of Louis Oosthuizen try and give you some stuff to do, some stuff not to do, it’s all the stuff you should do.

Every single frame of that guy’s golf swing is absolutely textbook, you could study in slow motion, you could study it live, you could whatever. I just spent half an hour having the opportunity to stand near him watching him hit golf balls and honestly you can’t pick faults in the guy’s swing. Unbelievably cool setup, unbelievably cool stance to the golf ball, very, very solid fundamentals, great rhythm, great timing and every time I talk about a South African golfer, I’ve seen just a thing they come out the same swing factory, like Els, like Immelman, like Goosen and Louis Oosthuizen. All phenomenon golf swings I’m sure Louis will carry on playing great golf and win more Major Championships, and next time I see him I will definitely recognize him.
