A golf turn that a lot of people may be familiar with and that may have heard before is getting stuck on the downswing or getting the club stuck behind you on the downswing. It’s something that you hear a TV commentator speak a lot about and is certainly something that you’ll hear your playing partners may speak about a lot of the time as well. Getting stuck behind or getting the club behind you is when the body rotates and when it turns and when the weight transfers towards the target, but the arms and the hands are behind the body when moving into impact.
It’s a bit of an exaggerated position you do well to get into this position but it’s actually moving through the ball, the weight moving left, the hips turning and it’s getting club in here. Very close to the body, club head behind the hands at this point and what this means as you come you've got to very quickly rotate and flick the hands of the ball. It's something the Tiger Woods really used to struggle with as he moved through getting the club trapped up behind him and he used to have these massive blocks off to the right hand side. So what Tiger did he really try and focus on getting that club a little bit more out in front of him on the way down which didn't help; it still used to be one of his swing.
But if people are suggesting that you are getting stuck on the inside that is the definition of it. So you're moving through the ball, you're turning through, your transferring goal weight but very simply the hands are just dropping too much down on the inside, you're in this position and the only way out of it is to move the club out that way very quickly, flick the hands and have a big push for a bad shot and you can also hit a big pull hook from that position as well – big hook from that position as well. So the whole point of these videos is to have a look at this and that's the explanation of why now we need to see how we can fix that for you guys as well. So stay watching and we’ll see how we get on.
