When you are placing your feet at the addressed position, it has a massive bearing on what will be happening within the golf swing, but there is no one size fits all approach. You can adapt your feet into different positions to hit different types of shot. So for normal standard setup you want to be starting I have got my three wood here but all position will shift differently and slightly when you use different clubs. But I am starting on my feet together pointing towards the ball, I am going to fan out my left foot as I take a step to the left hand side I am going to keep my right foot relatively straight forward as I guess setup here and what this will allow me to do is to turn against my right side without over rotating, move my hips through because my left foot is towed outwards and swing up and transferring my weight to a nice full finish position. So that’s why you would see in a standard pretty good technical position.

So what you find most people trying to achieve, however you can start to vary this foot position around. A good example as if you are struggling with your back swing turn and then figure into rotate on the back swing. If you go through that same step drill get that left toe pointed outwards, take a step back and get that right foot played out just as much. You will be able to turn and rotate your hips back as much as you can going through and if you can rotate your hips more going back this will likely rotate your body more and turn more. Therefore you should be able to get a little bit more power. Just by very simple variation like that you can really start to move your hips better and allow yourself to get lot more turn. You can also vary your stance in a ways as honing up the left foot more and getting more weight already planted into that left side. That will allow you to turn more and strike down more through the point of impact. You can get both feet played out put a little bit more weight on the right side which will allow you to hit up on shot a lot more, if you want to launch a ball very, very high, and these are all just by slight changes within the feet, very slight changes with how you are contacting with the ground and it is a very, very easy way to alter what is happening with your shots. Have a little bit of play around understand as you change your feet position, it will change what you are doing with your hips, and while you are doing with your hips and with your turn and with your weight distribution is going to affect what you are doing with your shots, so lot of stuff going on down there, please pay attention.
