So now let's have a look at drills that you can use to try and improve your right elbow position, and when we are talking about the right elbow, there is really one drill that stands out, that's been around for many many years and has stood the test of time. It is such a beautifully simple drill as well, because all you're going to need is just a golf club. Well, yeah, maybe two golf clubs if you want to wear one as well. But just with the golf club, all you want to do there is tucking this underneath the right arm. Now, the easiest way to kind of go about this drill is to get yourself set up, and then when you're in a comfortable posture position, take the glove, lift up your right arm, pin through underneath your armpit, and then get settled in for the show.
Now this is such a great drill because you can feel it underneath the arm and as soon as you take it away and if that right elbow just starts to come away, it’s going to pretty much immediately drop out. So the whole point of this drill is to complete the right swing and through swing and then nicely tucks under. So to just get in that position, is taking that away, keeping that right elbow nicely in, hope to the top of the swing and then just holding it in that position is you actually start the downswing and come through the point of impact as well as you swing through in here if it actually comes out in the through swing, that’s not an issue because the ball is already gone and all the damage that flying right elbow can do, is already in the past. But this is such a simple, such an effective and really the ultimate drill that you can use for trying to keep that right elbow closer to your body on the way back and the way through the start of the downswing.
