A major part of trying to tie together any really good, consistent golf swing or any really good, consistent sporting action in general is good quality balance. Now balance is often highlighted in the golf swing in the follow through position. So we start off with a good position, turn back, turn through, we really wanted to emphasize this goof follow through position. Now appreciate for some golfers of certain age, they find it quite difficult to stand in that follow through position. They don't feel like they've got their strength in their legs particularly if they're doing it incorrectly actually. If you're leaning backwards in towards your right foot, you often feel it's painful through your toes maybe even through the arch of your foot and quite often you'll get to that position and fall over and walk off, and watch your shaft from back here which might be more comfortable, but it's not the most dynamic, and most efficient, and most balanced position you can get into.

Now if you can manage to stand on your left foot completely, and just position your right toe onto tip toe and hold that position -if you can manage that, there's no reason why you can't manage to do that in a dynamic movement as a proper golf swing. So if I can bring David back onto the mat again now. Just setting up to the tee peg as normal, and making a nice, smooth swing to a full follow through position, and holding it there. So we see with David because we his left toe out in the address position, he's nice and balanced here. Right upon his tip toe his right leg and there he's comfortable, he's not going to fall over, he's not imbalance which is great and he can come back down again there for me, David. Now if you can make me a swing here where you don't get fall follow through and lean back a little bit too much into your right foot. This is a very common mistake we often see from golfers.

Now you can see the pressure going through the foot here, as David starts to lean back would often see the golf were actually settled back down onto this foot, watch the ball from this position, but there's a big difference there a subtle, but noticeable difference in the way the foot works. We want the weight to be on fully on the tip toes and not the ball of the foot, and not settling back again this way. So work really hard on your posture, the start of the swing, and a good balance follow through position. Starting a good balance posture, finishing a good balance follow through, and that will help you become a lot more consistent in your game.
