Greg the 17th hole here at the Worsley Mariott in Manchester is a beautifully designed hole and specifically well designed for this point in the round of golf. So many times golfers must have to come to the 17th in a similar situation to yourself having a decent round couple under handicap and then it's a beautiful risk reward par 4. It just goes to show that not always does a hole have to be over 400 yards for it to be a good hole or even a tough hole.
This measure is just over 270 yards on the card as it's playing today but there's probably 3 different ways we could play it. 270 with a driver you know might just sneak it on the front edge of the short for sure there's a bunker in the way about 180. Now maybe the safe place to play left of the bunker with a 5 or 6 iron and try to knock it in from there or you've got a hybrid out. I have got a hybrid I'm hoping to clear the bunker just carry the bunker but not bring the other bunker out in the right hand side into play OK. I know I'm not going to make the green with this yeah but I know I'm going to keep out the way of most troubles.
