I think there is a signature move that you will see most of the golfers on the TV create is what I would call the trophy position, this really nice, balanced, poised, follow through position. I call it the trophy position because there is always a little silver faller on the top of the golf trophies that most of my clients win anyway. And they are always standing in this follow through position here this trophy position. And I think most golfers would like to think and that’s how they finish maybe not in the case, maybe the reality is, a lot of golfers finish through the golf ball in this sort of position where they have actually spun that lead leg round towards the target that spikes can’t grip on the turf enough and they spin around and face that little bit off balance. And if you are off balance you are not being consistent and if you are not being consistent neither can the golf ball be consistent. So what I would like to see is that every time you hit a golf ball you turn through to a nice balance follow through position.
Now if it at one point and you will swing and you will downswing your left foot gets too light, so your lead foot gets too light the spikes won’t be able to grip and it will spin open and then you follow your through and you are off balance. So here is a nice little tip to try and help you with that balance, from a good address position, we want then to swing to the top and you really like will get heavy. Then drive in nicely towards your left leg, creating the pressure evenly along the whole foot. Now if it’s even along the whole foot spikes wont spin, then actually step through the ball and land with your right leg, your rear leg to past your front leg. So you have a follow through, when your right leg comes through, step and stand. And if you can get used to that drill, it will actually create quite a firm left side.
Now what I need to do is swing and just not quite take my step a right foot is very light it’s nearly going to come forward but I just hold it back. My left foot well then stay in position, because I couldn’t possibly move my left foot around in the bad position and step through at the same time, I will just fall over. So by stepping through the ball with your right leg your left leg learns to behave itself learns to quite him down. Then when you make your normal swing, your left leg is firm to the finish and held into the good trophy position.
