As a golf coach I might fell that changing someone golf swing tempo can actually be one of the hardest things that we actually come across. I know I give a golfer a load of things that they can work on in the lesson when I am actually watching them practice. I also know that soon as I'm not watching the go on the golf course with my mates the chances are the time per reverts back to the original tempo which might not necessarily correct for that game. So to identify your own swing tempo what I'd like you to consider is well she'll tempo in life you know you might be a really fast cadence person you walk quickly you get in the car quickly maybe drive too quickly maybe all the go all the time. In that case it's probably going to be unrealistic to then slow everything down to play golf but likewise if you'll slow walking around you take your time getting places you even talk slowly. When you want to start on the golf course is going to be a realistic 2 and then expect you to speedup and play with a quick tempo. So we need to find your natural time probably one of the easy ways to do that is just go to the driving range take a set of golf balls if you just take 10 15 balls and hit hard of them as fast as you can and hard for them as slow as you can.

Now fast and slow does not mean the actual club head speed impacts the club head speed impact should be as fast as you can comfortably manage but the fast swing is going to be everything fast setting up quickly swinging back quickly hitting the ball quickly. The cadence between the balls might be quick grab another one hit another one the slow one is going to be everything a bit slower and see which one works best for you you might find the 1st 51 well of a 2nd 5 went well or a blend between the two. So you actually find that nice rhythm in the middle so if I hit this 1st one I'm going to hit this one quickly. So I have a little twizzle of the club you see straight away I'm moving quickly. Imagine a nice little wide then nothing messing around here straight in behind the ball and head as hard as I can as fast as I can and a way we go and it flies OK but for me the whole felt very rushed that's not my natural cadence. That's not my natural time but the 2nd one I'm going to try to hit it the same and hit it but I'm a slow down a little bit. So this time I don't have the twizzle of the club before I start off I just lined the club up behind the golf ball get my feet in the right place position my hands more carefully everything a lot slower. Now I practice swing a lot smoother through the ball than as a set behind the ball I'm not wasting a great deal of time at the same time it's not rushed look at the target make sure I'm on line. Now we go ahead and I actually felt a lot more comfortable over the 2nd ball than I did over the 1st ball. The swing speed the club head speed at impact was going to be around about the same I hit both of them as hard as I could comfortably but my cadence was a lot better on my 2nd one and that's my natural approach to the game is to be a little bit smoother a little bit slower over the golf ball. Probably slowed it down slightly for the 2nd want to probably be somewhere between the 2 but generally on the slower scale. So try the next time you're on the range hit 5 or 10 balls as quickly as you can 5 or 10 balls a lot more slowly see where your natural turn paralyze and then try and stick to that next time you play on the course.
