The TW’15 golf shoe by Nike comes with a pretty hefty price tag of $200 a pair but it does not fail to live up to its “signature”. Being a golf shoe endorsed by one of the greatest players in history, Nike had to do a great job and they delivered, as usually.
The 2015 Tiger Woods model is the first in Nike’s history to incorporate the proprietary Flyweave technology in the upper construction, in tandem with an outsole inspired from Nike’s Free.
Thanks to its new design, this golf shoe features an “unibody” upper which translates into unparalleled support for your foot while being ultra-light and supple (actually 10% lighter than the previous generation).
There’s also an upgraded outsole, 3 mm lower than the previous gen, which provides excellent ground stability/contact during your swing.
Nike created these shoes after Tiger Woods requested more grip and flexibility. The designers complied and used brand new traction elements in the toe region and re-designed/4-replaceable spikes. Job well done!
The design is related to Tiger Woods passions, like water sports and spearfishing. You can see these influences if you take a look at how the traction elements on the outsole are shaped, i.e. mimicking octopus beaks, while the rubber in the toe areas and in the heel looks like shark scales.
The end results achieved by these technological innovations are stability and mobility “glued” together into a high performance golf shoe wearing an illustrious name.
The Nike TW’15 model is available in red/black, silver/black, and black/white colorways and comes with 2 years waterproof guarantee.
