Now a side saddle putting stroke is a bit of an anomaly, we don’t see much of it this around these days, I think originally Sam Snead paid a little bit of the side saddle, and side saddle is basically putting from the side of your body. It works from this principle that allows your body to stay facing to the target so you can have a really good look at the target. And I guess if you’re going to roll a ball, throw a ball you would throw a ball from the side of your body, and the side saddle method works the same. So aiming this way and the right down here is almost like your throwing a ball and you’re rolling a ball towards the hole there side saddle. Now you can see from here it’s not my favorite type of putting, but I’m going to have another go at this one to see if I can improve it. I’ll aim a little bit more to the right, body facing to the target, side saddle allows my practice stroke it really feels like your left side of your body is completely out of the way and the right side’s much more dominant. I took a bubble that one that was all over the place, it’s not the best technique for me it doesn’t really seem to be that popular with all the guys playing on tour, but if you really struggle and you feel like your left side of your body is in the way when you’re putting and particularly if your struggle with things like the yips and your really not enjoying your putting, maybe something like the side saddle method, it’s so different, it’s so quirky, you won’t be afflicted by the same issues that you have in your normal putting stroke. Maybe the side saddle could be a method that you try out.
