Top 3 Driver Myths - (Video) Lesson by PGA Pros Pete Styles and Matt Fryer

Golfers will often cling to any small nugget of information in order to try and help them improve their game. In this video Pete and Matt will explain how three common myths that are associated to drivers are not always the correct pieces of information. The first point of contention would be that a longer swing creates a longer golf shot. This is not always the case and is sometimes the direct opposite, as longer golf swings often produce less accurate and shorter results. The second area of confusion is that shots hit from the toe of the club will create sliced results. Again, this is often the direct opposite in that some balls that hit the toe will actually draw back to target using the concept of gear effect. The third area to be discussed is that to stop shots flying to the right the golfer should swing more to the left. This actually creates a more out-to-in golf swing and can produce shots that curve further to the right.

It's said that we live in an age of information or we do. Anywhere you turn there is information you can Google anything and find out the answer and if you don't have to google it your mates will be sure to tell you what they know or what kind of information you need. There's occasions when the information that comes from some sources is not necessarily information should be trusted very true yeah I'd always believe what you read and I think the thing that we're going to focus on this talk about is driver myths.

So 3 things that I've heard people say to me in a lesson I'm sure you've heard as well that we're going to try and put you right on things that might seem like they're true but actually aren't. Hopefully by understanding that these myths are a problem you can improve your driver and one of the things I often hear is I need to make a really long swing to hit a really long shot. Tell me what's wrong swinging it long but not always the answer to hitting it why is that a myth. Yes So you know I've heard that many times and you see people why you swing in that far and try to get it all the way out there this guy loses control is spinning out all over the place.
