Mirim Lee is a 24 year old Korean golfer currently playing on the LPGA Tour. She’s won three times on the Korean Tour, and is now playing her trade in the States. She’s a very, very good driver of the golf ball and mainly because she has a fantastic move through impact which allows her to get the most distance she possibly can. Now what she actually does, is move through the ball by getting the club dropping on the inside of the body, and hitting up very aggressively through the shot. Now when you come on the inside of the golf ball, you automatically enable yourself to be out hit out and upwards across the target line.

And as you start to hit up on a shot, you increase the launch, but you keep the spin low. So the ball launches higher than it normally would do but with not as much spin. Now that gives the optimum kind of conditions to get the ball launching high and then landing and then also bouncing, rather than just landing high and stopping, when it actually lands it gives the best of both worlds. Now very simply, to try and do this, you need to stay behind the ball. So tilt the spine slightly away at address. Keep it slightly away at impact and try and get that club moving from the inside and hitting up and hitting out. If you can manage to do this, it will give very, very good results. So tilt the spine away, come through impact keeping the spine titled and hit up and out during the shot. And if you can get it working the ball should move away, with a little bit of right to left movement. So give that go hit up and on the driver, and you should get that optimal launch condition.
