I don't know about you but I always get excited when I get to a par three in a round of golf. You know you've worked hard on some of the par four you've worked hard on some of the par fives and you get to the par three and the reason they're often the most enjoyable the shortest the most attractive holes in a lot of golf courses, and when you get to that part three it's probably one of your better opportunities to get a good score to maybe make a birdie maybe make a par. A lot of people when they get to that they've got a head full of ideas they're thinking hard about the club selection the distances the hazards like I say it's attractive whole often lots of danger lots of hazards on those holes but we've got to really focus on these results we've got to get a good result that's a good resulting terms of the shot we're hitting and a good result in terms of the score that we're trying to make as well now the key focus to this when you're standing on the tee to get a good result is the target line I really want to focus hard on where you're aiming your shot. So try not to be distracted by all those pretty bunkers and water hazards and things like that we've got to make sure we're picking a good target line that target line is not always the flag to the thirty seating is where I want to aim this thing.

If you've got a a part three green and the flag is over on one side instinctively you want to aim at the flag but what about bunkers all down this side here and if it's a big green we're not better off aiming to the middle of the green and putting across rather than taking on the flag and go in the bunker. So once you've picked your target line and make a smart decision about picking that target line you don't want to make sure you're really aiming accurately towards it with also your club and your body so we spend a bit of time to be stood behind the ball looking down towards the target line assessing exactly where we're aiming now. We'll pick a spot in line with where we want to aim we will line the club towards that we line the body up towards that and then we try and make a really focus swing hitting the ball exactly over the top of that target line towards the intended target and not worrying about the hazards of the danger the water features on this part three. So good target line for the club good target line for the body making a nice swing straight down towards that target and hopefully by focusing a bit more on your target line in your set up on most part three holes you'll be focusing more on your results and improving your skills.
