The 360 Face Cup technology developed at Callaway has lifted the company to the #1 iron brand in golf. Players routinely say “LONG!” when talking about the performance of Callaway irons. The Callaway R&D experts with $30 million a year in funding re-engineered the manufacturing process to bring Face Cup 360 technology into the iron line up. With 360 Face Cup technology, the face is manufactured separately from the body of the club. As a result, the face place can be precisely engineered to the correct thickness eliminating dead spots. The increase in ball speed off the face produces the “LONG!” heard among Callaway adherents.
The Apex CF 16 Irons were the first forged, players irons to feature the 360 Face Cup technology (#3-#7). The shorter irons (8-AW), feature a unique engineered face plate that enhances feel and control. The advanced, quadruple net forging process, with precise milling give the irons a soft feel. The target player will have a 15 handicap or lower. Originally available in brushed chrome, this set has gone to the dark side. The all black, satin finish on the heads is sleek and modern. The standard True Temper XP 95 Stepless Shaft also has the satin black finish and “blacked out” Lamkin grips are included. Perfect for the minimalist, the “less glare, lower scores” guy or Darth Vader. The Apex Black iron set is available from Callaway through custom order.
