Odyssey unveiled recently their latest Red Ball putter (retail price $180 MSRP), which comes with a scope of sorts, designed to improve alignment. This is a very peculiar and interesting design by any metrics, as Odyssey's research and development team managed to push the boundaries of alignment further than ever with their new Red Ball putter. Besides the famous “scope”, the Red Ball putter from Odyssey features the company's excellent (and proprietary) face insert, together with high MOI forgiveness. Continuing Odyssey's tradition of innovation and thinking outside the box, the Red Ball putter focuses on a peculiar design feature, an actual red ball which is located under a so-called scope, positioned into the top-side of the clubhead. This setup is specifically aimed at improving alignment, and it does it with flying colors, like no other putter on the market today. When set up properly, i.e. with the red ball perfectly inside the center of the scope, you'll be pretty much in the “green” in terms of consistency with regard to the loft and face angle of the club, time after time.

Also, the Red Ball design keeps your eyes directly over the ball at all times during set-up, thus producing an accurate view of the line. Needless to say, the Red Ball putter from Odyssey also features the company's patented Versa contrast alignment, and I mean on top of the “red ball/scope” thing, which further improves accuracy. The cherry on top is the hugely popular White Hot RX insert, which comes with Tour proven feel and sound. Furthermore, the Red Ball putter has a mallet shape and added weight located in the extremities of the clubhead, in order to produce a high moment of inertia, which translates into improved stability and forgiveness. To describe it in a few words, the Red Ball is the first super game improvement putter created by Odyssey, which is aimed at satisfying a specific need in the marketplace, offering multi level aim and alignment aiding, like no other model on the market. Everything's on the up and up with the Red Ball putter, and the good news is that it's available both online and offline at selected retailers since 7/20/18.
