So Henry Cotton is a famed English professional who not only competed at the highest level of professionally winning three Open Championships but also went on to become a renowned golf instructor, still revered by many of the modern teaching professionals to this very day. Now what Henry Cotton did fantastically well and what he had the drive and desire to do was practice exceptionally hard at his game. Now this is almost too obvious to state but if you want to get better, if you want to improve as a golfer you need to practice. Now what Cotton did to the extreme with this is literally practice until he’s hands bled.

Now I am not saying that you need to go out there and do this but what you do need to do is take a leaf out of his book and understand that if you want to get better you need to get to the driving range, you need to get to the putting green, chipping green, get out on the course and put the hard hours in. Henry Cotton wasn’t by all accounts the most naturally gifted player that’s ever walked the planet. But what he was able to do is commit, to dedicate his time, to dedicate his life to a single goal of becoming a better golfer. So no matter if you want to play on Tour, no matter if you want to win your weekly medal you have to have the ability, you have to have the time and you have to have the dedication to be able to put the time into practice because without that you will not reach your goals.
