If I want to rebuild my golf swing how should I set about it? Now if you are considering a total rebuild of your golf swing to produce a particular ball flight that you might want see or to eliminate certain errors from your game, the first place that you need to start is right back at the basics, the fundamental points to your swing. Namely; the grip, the posture, stunts and the different ball positions with each club. If you start from this base you can build up from a much stronger position. Often when people talk about rebuilding their swing, they often miss out this actual fundamental aspect of a good, good golf technique, and it does show later on. A difference in a posture, a fault in the posture or a fault in the grip can actually affect how you swing. So don’t just jump straight into changing the swing, start from the base.
Now with the grip you want to be having something like a bit of a neutral grip, which sees, the club sits through the left hand through the fingers and as you look down onto to the left hand you should be seeing two and half knuckles and the V created by the thumb and fore fingers on the left hand pointing up towards the right shoulder. Either interlock or overlap the right hand and then just rest the left thumb in the palm of the right hand over the V created by the thumb and the fore finger also towards the right shoulder. The posture should fit your straight back with a tilt over from the hips creating a spine angle for the swing to turn around, and then we need to go through the different ball positions for the irons and the woods. So if you were considering a big rebuild of your swing, start with the fundamental points don’t just jump straight into the more technical aspects build from the ground up and you will have a lot more success when you start to change your technique.
