If you want to improve your golf you’ve to got understand which areas of your game are the weakest. And the easiest to way to find out those weakest areas are to trust the stats. Look at the statistics for your last round of golf, your last 10 rounds of golf; your last 50 rounds of golf. Work out where the strength, work out where the weaknesses lie and then go and improve those bits of your game. You don’t have all the time in the world, so make sure you are using your practice time the most efficiently. And the best thing I would suggest is get yourself an app or a stats package that you can run on your phone or run on your computer. And then after each round of golf you input all the information of that last round of golf into that package. And that will work out for you things like the percentage of fairways hit, the greens in regulation that you hit. Whether you were missing to the left or the right, how many putts you took, how many bunkers you had been in, how many penalty shots you have taken. All the different elements that go together to make up the stats of your last round of golf will go into that package that will then track your improvements.
So, if you have been working on your game and you have been taking a few a lessons you might see that your driving has been improving. But as your driving has being improving, you haven’t been practicing your putting enough, so that’s start to go up a little bit. Key stats for most club golfers are going to be things like; how many three putts you had, how many penalty shots you had and how many greens, in regulation you can hit. Penalty shots are an; obvious ones, they are just wasted shots, so I curve it out of bounds it cost me the one shot to hit that one. It cost me one shot in the penalty so effectively a two shot penalty. Greens in regulations are important because if I’m trying to make pass I’m probably going to have to be hitting some greens in regulations. The other thing that’s costing a lot of club golfers and a majority of there shots on the course, are three putts. So you might play the whole quite nicely you knock it down there the green and three whack it. So if you can use the stats package to help you improve your efficiency of your practice time that will help you become a better golfer more quickly.
