Okay I want to demonstrate what an over the top swing is. An over the top swing is really what it sounds like, it's where we basically get to the top of the back swing and the first movement coming down is where the upper half of the body takes over from the lower half. So if I get to the top here and start the downswing of my shoulders, the club as you can see is being thrown out. So it's what actually called is coming over the top. It's not coming inside. It's coming over the top. And again, it’s back to the top, the body starts on the way down. So that's what an over the top swing is, so now that we know what that is and of course when the club comes over the top, you can see it's coming over the top from the outside.

It's coming across the ball to the inside and we are back into the scenario of, if the ball goes to the left hand side and it stays left, it's a pull. If it goes to the left and curves to the right, and it's a slice. So whichever way you view it, an over the top swing is the same as swinging it out to in, so it will create the two dreaded shots, pull and the slice. So what we need to do, we need to work on some rotation here. So when we're over the ball, the backswing as we go back, we got to get all the time of pushing away of the left shoulder. We are pushing away with the left arm and from here; I want you to concentrate on turning your hips. So from here there is the rotation going back, very, very simple, very effective, very simple thought. I don't go down this complicated route. Let's keep things very simple you know. At the end of the day, there is enough complications out there, without making more things complicated than what we need. So from here, turn the hips, very, very simple from there. And as you start down, remember from here now start with your feet, your knees, your hips. So if they start down, you can see the club is now coming back from the inside path. Remember before we started down at the top where we have got ourselves now, we have now turned the shoulders to 90 degree. So from here we're starting down with the lower half of the body and it goes from the ground upwards. So it's the feet, it’s the knees, it’s the hips, it's the torso that are driving you to that ball. And as we hit that ball get to this position here, then we finish that swing golf into a nice finish, nice foot posture so there you go, so we've explained an over the top swing and now explained basically how to get out of that and more importantly, to work on a nice rotation. Remember rotation gives you control, accuracy and extra distance with less effort. It's got to be a winner.
