Victor Dubuisson is a very exciting and very young French player who broke into prominence by winning the 2013 Turkish Airlines Open. Since then he’s gone on to represent Europe in the Ryder Cup and was also involved in a memorable play off at the World Match Play Championship against Jason Day after he got up and down from some of the most unlikely situations imaginable, and he has a fantastic golf swing one which is packed with very, very good technical features, one of the most exciting is the way he drives through strikes down, and actually connects with his iron shots. The sound when he connects with his iron shots are different than a lot of players you hear out on tour at the moment.
What he does within his swing which is so impressive is turn to the top the left arm nice and extended but not overly so, nice and extended but the hands are relatively close to the body at the top of the swing, but from there, he manages to maintain the angles between his wrist and the club, very, very well turning shifting his weight, and getting his hands ahead of impact; left hand leading almost prorating slightly towards the target, and the right hand pushing down and through. And that combination together just allows him to strike down and really mince his iron shot very, very well. So it’s a wide swing, maintaining the leg down and then getting those hands ahead of the ball as he strikes. And it’s a very, very hard strike down on to the ball, it does take some quite incredible divot but when he gets it right, the strike is amazing and he is definitely a player to watch for the future.
