28 year old American Tour professional Paula Creamer has been as high as number two in the world and has 12 PGA victories under her belt including a major championship. Now she has a very unique movement within her swing, which not many people would be able to copy. However, she almost gets into a stuck position, a problem position during her downswing, but then makes a magical move to get out of it. What she does in her downswing, after a nice wide, nice full turn, is dip quite significantly towards the ball. However, as she gets low into the ball like this, her left hip, and her hips move backwards and left, and it allows her to move up and away from the impact area and make a good connection with the ball.

Now what this move does, it might get some people, many people into a problem, but as that left hip lifts and clears, it allows a lot of speed to be generated. So although she might get herself into a problem situation, her recovery actually adds benefits into the swing. Now adding in a big dip into the downswing is not recommended but if you can get the same hip action of clearing the hips left, and then opening them up, it should give lots and lots of benefits. So don’t add in the massive dip, probably not recommended, but give it a go, and moving the hips left, back and up. And if you can do that, it can certainly add a lot of power onto the shot. Now Paula Creamer, she’s been a long time member of the LPGA Tour, and if she can make those moves, and you can give them a go, I’m sure they can add something to your game.
