James Hahn is a 33 year old Korean golfer who played his college golf in the States and really stepped up this year 2015 where he won the Northern Trust Open. Now James Hahn in many respects is the epitome of a modern golf swing, very strong, very dynamic, very strong and stable lower base that he powers up from, hip extension turning and moving upwards it’s a very, very good and very, very powerful way to swing the club.

But there is one thing in his swing, which a lot of golfers can apply to their game straightaway and that is before he actually hits the shot he hovers the golf club just off the ground. Now what that allows him to do and what it can allow many, many people to do, is if they get setup and just hover the club just above the ground before the ball there is nothing to impede the backswing and it makes the backswing much smoother and much fuller. If the club is grounded it can be a little tricky to kind of drag the surface and drag it back, it’s a lot easier to keep that club nice and hovered to get that smooth transition away. Its very, very simple to do is getting setup where he hit half the club normally resting just pick it up and just hover it and then carry on with the smooth transition. Now James Hahn backswing nice and high nice, tall, and very dynamic through the impact area. Not everyone will be physically able to repeat that action but everyone can repeat that slide hover of the drive off the ground before the swing is bigger.
