When we talk about issues in golf first putting particularly club in amateur golfers they often talk about the inconsistencies that they suffer I think most golfers experience that adrenaline rush off holing a long shot they think why can't I do that on the next hole and they're inconsistent as a lot of people are. So when we look at the inconsistencies we see three main factors one is inconsistent aim one is inconsistent distance and one is inconsistent with the strike. which will affect the game and the distance of the putt. So when we look at trying to improve the consistency let's look at those three factors again. The first thing we need to focus on to be more consistent with your aim is your club head alignment at setup Simply put if that club is not aiming where the ball should be or whether you want to set the ball off it's not going to go in the hole. So my club is aiming to the left on this hole. I pull the putt down the left side on the very next hole I think I don't want to go left at this time line the club more to the right and I hit the ball out to the right and suddenly I've got some inconsistency in my putting stroke.

So club head aim is one of the first factors to improve your consistency the next thing we talked about was distance control again we could see golfers who when they line up towards the putt they focused on club head aim and then they hit the ball half way there because they decelerated as they hit the plot and there's an inconsistency as well. So we've got a good club head aim we then want to work on accelerating through impact and for a lot of golfers that's the killing word is that they decelerate into impact when they should accelerating they're not getting the ball to the hole enough because they're slowing down they're getting nervous and there's a big issue and then the one last factor which can actually affect the distance and the line is not striking the ball in the right place. It's simply not getting a good enough contact and similar to not striking your irons or your driver well enough it does affect distance and alignment we want to make. You're hitting the ball nicely in the sweet spot the center of the putter every time and often that will come down to a nice stable body in a particularly nice stable head position. So it's a golfer that takes their time line in the club face up think about the length of their stroke and during the swing their head might move back and the head might move through to watch the putt there's too much head movement too many moving parts during that swing and therefore they get inconsistent strikes an inconsistent role. So if we can work on aiming the club head correctly accelerating the club correctly and keeping the head nice and still hopefully your inconsistent putting will become better and more consistent.
