Callaway Odyssey O-Works #1/Wide Putter Review

The Callaway Odyssey O-Works #1 Putter retails from $199.99 (MSRP) and it comes in two flavors: the regular and the Odyssey O-Works #1 Wide Putter. The new line of putters from Callaway, the Odyssey O-Works that is, introduces a new technology, the Microhinge insert respectively, to improve both performance and feel. It’s widely believed that Odyssey, which is a world renowned insert putter expert (they also own the White Hot Insert), produced their best technology yet with the Microhinge face, which is found in both Callaway Odyssey O-Works #1 Putters, the regular and the wide version. In terms of looks, these putters were designed to provide you with tons of assistance, in order to make sure you’ll have them right on the target, and I am talking about the red sight lines added by Odyssey, that form a T-line on the flange and topline. If you flip the putter out, you’ll discover some cool laser edged graphics and red weights. Now, it’s common knowledge that a high tech insert in a putter is going to have a tremendous influence on both feel and sound.

The new Microhinge insert is better than regular (as in soft) inserts, having more response and sounding better upon ball impact, while keeping its softness. Another cool thing about the Callaway Odyssey O-Works #1 Putters is the Odyssey Microhinge face, which comes with tiny hinges on it, that assist the ball roll with immediate topspin. Now, if you’re looking for pure roll and soft feel with laser accurate response, the Callaway Odyssey O-Works #1 Putters should please you, regardless of your skill level.
