Thomas Pieters is a Belgian golf-pro and he’s currently playing in the European Tour. Despite being born and raised in Belgium, Thomas Pieters who started playing golf since he was five years old attended the University of Illinois starting from 2010, where he played a lot of golf obviously. In 2011, Thomas won the Jack Nicklaus Invitational and one year later in 2012 the individual 2012 NCAA Division I Championship. Furthermore, in 2013 he won the individual Big Ten Conference Championship. Thomas Pieters decided to go pro in the same year, 2013, and he renounced his senior year at the university as he debuted on the European Tour at the Alstom Open de France in July 2013. He finished 29th and he managed to qualify to play on the respective tour after receiving the 20th card at the Final Stage of the European Tour Qualifying School.
Thomas scored three professional victories in the European Tour: in 2015 at the D+D Real Czech Masters and the KLM Open (the same year) and the third in 2016 at the Made in Denmark golf tournament. Last year, (2017) Thomas Pieters joined the PGA Tour where he made 7 cuts in twelve starts, and he’ll play the 2017-18 PGA Tour Season out of the Top 125 Non-Member category.
