Every had a successful golf career at the University of Florida where he was a four time All American. After graduating in 2006, Every turned pro. Playing on the Nationwide Tour in 2008, Every just missed out on securing a PGA Tour card after finishing the season 34th in the rankings. The following year he won once at the season ending Nationwide Tour Championship by three shots on his way to ending the year 10th in the rankings. As a result, he secured his first ever PGA Tour card.
He played 18 times in his rookie season, making the cut 12 times. His sole top 10 finish came at the Waste Management Phoenix Open where he was a tie for 6th. Every would end his rookie year 160th on the money list and subsequently lost his card. After returning to the Nationwide Tour in 2011, Every regained his card after finishing the year 18th in the standings.
He had a breakout year in 2012 on the PGA Tour. He had two runner-up finishes; at the Valero Texas Open and Children's Miracle Network Hospitals Classic as well as a further four top 10s. He would end the year 40th on the money list. Every captured his first PGA Tour title in 2014 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational where he finished a single stroke ahead of Keegan Bradley. He had a total of six top 10s in 2014 on his way to a position 33rd on the money list. Every would successfully defend his Arnold Palmer Invitational title in 2015, finishing with a final round of 66 to defeat Henrik Stenson by a shot.
