After playing college golf at the Vanderbilt University, Curran turned pro in 2009. He played on the various mini tours for a number of years. Playing on the NGA Pro Golf Tour in 2013, Curran managed to finish first on the money list, helped by claiming victory at the Brunswick-Heritage Oaks Classic. This earned him a full card for the Web.com Tour. In what was only his third event ever on the Tour, Curran captured the Brasil Champions tournament, largely aided by a first round of 61. Despite missing nine cuts in his last ten events of the 2014 season, Curran still managed to finish the year 12th on the money list, thereby giving him his first ever PGA Tour card.
So far in his rookie season, Curran has played 22 events, making the cut in 12 of them. He has managed to finish in the top 10 on five occasions. His best result came at the Puerto Rico Open, where he narrowly lost out to German Alex Cejka. Curran looks to have all but secured his Tour card for next season thanks mainly to this second place result.
