    Born in Adelaide, South Australia, in 1977, Ogilvy turned professional in 1998. In his first season as a professional, Ogilvy won a European Tour card at qualifying school. After playing on the European Tour in 1999 and 2000, Ogilvy joined the PGA Tour in 2001. In his first five seasons on the Tour he finished in the top 100 players. Ogilvy achieved his first win as a professional, at the Chrysler Classic of Tucson in 2005. He won again the following year, at the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship.

    Also in 2006, Ogilvy won his first major, at the US Open. As a result of this win, Ogilvy moved into the top 10 of golf’s world rankings. In 2007, Ogilvy finished as runner-up to Henrik Stenson at the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship. He went one better in 2008, when he achieved victory at the WGC-CA Championship. This was his second World Golf Championship title, and the first time he had won on the PGA Tour since 2006. Ogilvy continued his success over the following seasons. He tied for second place at the Shell Houston Open in 2008 and won the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship in 2009. Following this win Ogilvy was placed fourth in the world rankings.

    Away from the course, Ogilvy is married to Juli, and the couple has three children.

    As of the end of 2014, Ogilvy had achieved eight wins on the PGA Tour, amassing total prize money of $28,440,709.
