Nike Golf Launches AIR MAX 97 G

Nike is a big name in golf-world and the good news for the fan base is that the beloved US-based company just launched their latest golf shoe: the AIR MAX 97 G. It’s interesting to see how a street icon like Nike’s legendary Air Max is now to be seen on the golf course. Just to give you a little bit of context, the Nike Air Max 97 took the world by storm, or more precisely, the running world, as they were arguably the best running shoes at the time. The new Nike Air Max 97 G golf shoe is a homage of sorts and it's designed to look very much like the original Nike Air Max 97 (the G particle stands for Golf, obviously).

What’s different in the G version is the grippy outsole, which is specially crafted to perform well on the golf course. To complement the shoe’s 90’s street-cred and heritage, the Nike Air Max 97 G feature a dramatic silhouette, or so we’re told by the sneaker-head who designed these babies:

“The Air Max 97 G is so iconic and versatile. This layered top and triple hit of denim play off the stitching on the shoe and really push the boundaries of fashion and golf.”

The Nike Air Max 97 G has the same colorway as the iconic Nike Air Max 97s, the Silver Bullet respectively, and the 97 particle signifies the year of inception, i.e. the original version was released in the last century, in 1997 respectively. The Nike Air Max 97 was the world’s first to feature an air bubble that ran the length of the shoe, and the same design is now available for golfers. The upper of the Nike Air Max 97 G is made using stitching and inset laces, while the spikeless outsole boasts a specially designed traction pattern that does a great job both on and off the golf course.
