Honma Reveals Premium Beres Line Golf Clubs

This is not exactly hot news, but Honma launched recently their high-end/premium Beres line of clubs. What does it mean, you asked? Well, if you’re into luxury (some may say opulent) golf gear, the Beres line has it all for you: 24 K gold and platinum accents in a high-end full-line of drivers, fairways, hybrids, and irons. The new Honma Beres line is available in 2,3,4 or 5-star grade options, and yes, the 5 star comes with the aforementioned 24K gold and platinum accents.

All four product lines dubbed Beres are as premium and as high end as they come, don’t get us wrong, and that’s why they’re defined by a star grade ranking, that goes from two to five stars. Just like with luxury hotels, the grades of luxury in the Beres line of golf clubs are basically differentiated by increasing levels of shaft performance, cosmetic detail (yes, that’s a real thing in 2020 apparently), and, when it comes to five stars, the use of gold and platinum (precious metals that is) in the clubhead. Here’s Honma’s Senior Director of Product Development Division Hiroshi Suwa on the all-new Beres line:

“Only Honma’s most experienced takumi are permitted to work on BERES. These golf clubs represent the soul of our company and are the ultimate artistic expression of our most talented clubmakers.”

As we told you previously, the Beres line includes metal woods, which are built with the company’s patented maximum active speed slot technology. If you’re wondering what’s up with that, the short story is that metal woods work great when it comes to increasing distance at slower swing speeds, as their sole slot comes with cleverly designed deep side slot extensions, for maximizing distance when it comes to off-center hits. Moreover, the Beres line of drivers is engineered with a thin/internal radial ribbed face, that promotes maximum distance off the tee.

Honma’s cutting edge maximum active speed slot technology is extended to the irons, but unlike metal woods, the irons feature 3 sole slots, one external and two internal respectively, which are designed to boost speed off the face. In real life, this technological innovation translates into more distance than ever before, even for golfers with slower swing speeds. The irons also benefit from a 3D L-Cup face design, which enhances speed on off-center hits and improves forgiveness by pushing weight back by using a weight-pads system. The Beres line comes with advanced ARMRQ shafts, which are also engineered for more distance than ever before. These state of the art shafts have been redesigned from scratch and they’re crafted with multi-axis metal hybrid armor technology, Honma’s specialty, and promote what’s called a high smash factor.

The three to five-star options in the new Beres line feature Honma’s special “twist fleuret” M40X composite material, which is also designed for distance and it is inspired from the world of fencing swords, having shape memory characteristics that play in a league of their own. Speaking about Honma’s new premium line, Vice President of Global Product Chris McGinley said:
