Callaway Introduces Super Hybrid

If you're a fan of the brand, today's news is that Callaway Golf recently introduced what they're describing as a super hybrid; or, to put it another way, the new gear from Callaway is bringing the power of a fairway wood in a hybrid. Basically, the new super hybrid is something entirely new in the golf world, a new beast, or a new kid on the block: a hybrid that has enough power to match a fairway wood. Or, the best of both worlds if you like. The new super hybrid which reinvents the wheel in the golf-world is a titanium powered beast, engineered and designed to offer the ball speed, distance and overall forgiveness of a regular fairway wood in the shape and form of a hybrid, which is pretty interesting, to say the least.

In layman's terms, the super hybrid is the ideal choice for golfers looking for ultimate control, but without sacrificing distance in the process. Now, it's true that creating a hybrid that works/performs just as well as a fairway wood is no simple task from an engineering point of view. But Callaway's R&D department managed to pull that off, and they did it by employing state of the art technology into a packed-to-the-brim and finely tuned club. To begin with, you can't get fairway wood distance by following the hybrid-orthodoxy, hence Callaway chose a titanium construction for their super hybrid, which is a completely different approach by any metrics. The Callaway Super Hybrid's secret begins with a High-Strength Titanium Face insert, that's aimed at promoting very fast all-out speed, as well as optimized flight and spin.

Why? Well, that's an easy one: these are the key components in a hybrid, that if you're looking for long-distance anyway. Then, combine the High-Strength Titanium Face insert thing with Callaway's proprietary Jailbreak Technology, and you end up with a winner. The Jailbreak thing consists of 2 internal bars located right behind the face, which basically harden/stiffen the body made from titanium, thus placing more impact load on the titanium-made insert, which furthermore results in ludicrous ball speeds all across the face. The new Super Hybrid from Callaway Golf is a total distance tool, and the all-titanium construction allowed the company's engineers to precisely position the center of gravity to create the ultimate hybrid, with a penetrating and consistent launch. Another benefit of an all-titanium construction is that this super hybrid features considerable amounts of tungsten weight into the heel for increased moment of inertia, which results in an optimized ball flight.

But wait, there's more than meets the eye: the “uber hybrid” comes with Callaway's patented T2C Triaxial Carbon Crown, which saves more weight compared to a traditional steel-made crown, and comes with a tighter weave vs older composite crowns. The weight saved in the process is then redistributed within the club's head, with the end game being a raised moment of inertia for consistent distance and a lower CoG. Finally, the new Super Hybrid from Callaway is offered in 3 lofts with an adjustable OptiFit hosel mechanism, which permits you to lower the loft by 1 degree or, why not, to increase it by 2 degrees if one so inclined. And if you were wondering about the price, here it comes : $319.99 each with Mitsubishi Tensei CK Pro Orange shaft and Golf Pride MCC Align grip, in 17, 20 and 23 degrees.
