If you already own a Bettinardi made wedge, this is a sign you have exquisite taste in golf-gear, and the great news for today is that the company announced recently its latest HLX 3.0 Wedges for 2020. The HLX 3.0 are completely new, both in terms of technology and design compared to previous editions, i.e. this is not just the same old reruns so to speak.
The HLX 3.0 are the logical successors of the H2 wedge family. The 3.0 are engineered using state of the art Soft Carbon Steel, and this particular choice of material is aimed at delivering golfers with an incredibly soft feel at ball impact. The new wedges are crafted to be as versatile as possible, forgiving and easy to control, being the ideal tool for short game shots. The HLX 3.0 marks a leap forward in Bettinardi’s milling technology, as these wedges are engineered using the latest tech innovations applied to the grind of the sole, in an effort to deliver more consistency in production, with an emphasis on producing maximum repeatability and short-game playability.
Speaking of milling expertise on Bettinardi’s part, the new HLX 3.0 wedges are engineered employing the company’s state of the art High Helix Cut machining process, and they boast a brand new face which is machined to perfection for that amazingly soft feel we all know and love in our wedges. These wedges are designed to provide players with ultimate versatility via deep grooves spaced to the USGA's limits, courtesy of the company's optimizing process of removing excess material.
The C-grind HLX 3.0 wedge comes with a higher toe and heel, which promotes clean contact and added relief, and the completely redesigned face is designed to produce more consistent distance control and a more aggressive spin, as Bettinardi’s engineers managed to remove twenty percent more additional surface metal, which permits the ball to travel past the CoG aka center of gravity.
The RJ-grind HLX 3.0 wedge is designed to please golfers looking for added bounce on square face shots and more forgiveness on tight lies, and boasts Bettinardi’s highest measured bounce, being excellent for golfers with a steep angle of attack. The new HLX 3.0 wedges from Bettinardi can be ordered in the company’s brand new Black Smoke finish, or in the classic Chrome finish; both versions are engineered for glare reduction and greater optics, arriving with a custom-made Bettinardi Crosstour Soft Grey and Black Lamkin grip. And speaking of customization options, you can choose between 3 Tour grade shafts options: True Temper S400, Nippon Pro Modus 115 or KBS High Rev. Worldwide shipping will start next month, from April 10th respectively, but you can already pre-order the HLX 3.0 today.
