Adidas Reveals Highly Advanced Codechaos golf shoes

The German company Adidas just announced its new Codechaos footwear range for 2020, which consists of 3 models of golf shoes for both men and women golfers. Retailing for $150, this shoe is crafted to be the best of both worlds, as it boasts a sporty and youthy design of a regular sports shoe with a spikeless outsole that feels awesome both on and off the golf course.

But since we’re all looking for traction and stability on the golf course, the Codechaos’ spikeless outsole features an interesting mix of rubber and TPU inserts which is durable yet soft and grippy on all kinds of terrain, but without sacrificing comfort and quietness when walking on pavement/flat surfaces. Since we’re talking German engineering, the Adidas Codechaos golf shoes have a very peculiar sole design, and by that we mean the company’s proprietary Twistgrip traction system. The Twistgrip technology is highly advanced and it’s been developed by studying heat maps in swing studies, which means this technology works by addressing the way golf players shift/distribute their body weight throughout the swing.

By focusing specifically on these parameters, Adidas’ scientists managed to determine with high accuracy where more traction was required and what type of lug shapes would work the best to provide impeccable traction, regardless of the terrain and weather conditions. Basically, the Codechaos golf shoes are scientifically engineered to perfection, and on top of that, they look pretty nice, featuring a brand new upper made using a multi-layer mesh, just like Adidas’ running shoes. This special mesh structure gives the shoe a unique structure which is well known to the brand’s aficionados, and it also enhances both breathability and durability, while keeping it as light as possible. There are also special layers encased in film, so rest assured, the Codechaos is a waterproof golf shoe, suitable for all weather conditions.

Moreover, the new golf shoe is built to deliver energy return and all-around comfort fia its full-length Boost cushioning technology, and there’s also the familiar Torsion X stability bar, a well-known Adidas innovation, which confers tour-level support swing after swing. But rest assured, as the new Codechaos from Adidas is not your stereotypical “pros only” golf shoe, but it’s addressed (and priced) at golfers at all levels. Here’s Masun Denison, global footwear director at Adidas commenting on the new 2020 Codechaos series:

“Golf continues to evolve and is in an exciting phase right now where the traditions of the game and how it can be played are all being challenged. We’re excited about this movement which has inspired us to break down barriers and create unique footwear and apparel for anyone that picks up a club. CODECHAOS is meant to challenge what a golf shoe can look and feel like while still delivering top-notch performance to all golfers whenever or wherever they play.”

Adidas also launched a BOA version of the Codechaos golf shoe, which retails for $180 MSRP and it makes for a waterproof golf shoe crafted to deliver a classic-clean look, along with a lightweight slip-on design and a hydrophobic stretch-knit collar. This particular version boasts Adidas’ proprietary L6 Boa Fit System which provides a locked-in feel. Finally, there’s the Codechaos Sport edition, which retails for $130 MSRP. Completing the Codechaos series, the Sport golf shoe features a spikeless rubber outsole, and it's built to be the master of versatility in a new lightweight construction and a slim silhouette while maintaining the company's Boost and Bounce cushioning for unparalleled comfort, plus waterproofness.
