Callaway is a company synonymous with premium performance, and their apparel division just launched recently the 2019 Weather Series, which is following the slogan “play unrestricted in every condition”, or something along these lines. The thing about the 2019 Weather Series is that it makes for a revolutionary collection of golf-centric outerwear for both men and women golfers, obviously, and by revolutionary we’re not mincing words either. Callaway Apparel put their latest and greatest technologies into the new line of Weather Series, and as its name suggests, the new collection is driven by the goal of offering customers the ultimate level of performance in regard to playability, functionality and versatility.
And since we’re talking Callaway golf, the Weather Series is clearly both premium and performance driven, being focused on one thing and one thing only: helping people from all around the world to play golf as they see fit, i.e. unrestricted, comfy and, very importantly, in basically any type of weather. To achieve this noble goal, Callaway used their brand spanking new and nothing short of revolutionary Swing Tech technology in almost every piece, which makes the 2019 Weather Series the most advanced (technologically speaking) and also most complete golf-lineup made by Callaway to date. And if you’re not taking our word for granted, here’s what Executive Vice President of Design & Merchandising for Callaway Apparel Gina Avila had to say about the new collection, but let’s quote her on that:
“We are thrilled to bring the all-new Weather Series lineup to market. My team and I have spent countless hours working to create products that feature the latest in fiber technology and performance-enhancing materials while still providing a sophisticated, aesthetically pleasing appearance. The result is what we believe to be the newest gold standard in performance golf outerwear.”
To give you the “greatest hits” of the Men’s 2019 Weather Series or the highlights if you like, we must mention the Callaway StormGuard™ Waterproof Jacket & Pants, which are crafted using the aforementioned cutting edge technology Swing Tech, as well as mechanical 4 way stretch fabric. The new StormGuard™ Waterproof Jacket & Pants are built to deliver unparalleled comfort and full-range of motion regardless of weather conditions, and that applies especially to those nice people in Scotland who are currently having a hard time playing golf in October. What’s absolutely novel for the 2019 lineup is that these new products boast a 15K JIS waterproof rating, which incidentally is the company’s highest ever, and that leads us to think that Callaway is expecting heavy rain this season. All jokes aside, the new StormGuard™ Waterproof Jacket & Pants are built with fully seam-sealed, splash proof pockets, to keep your important stuff dry, while the breathable waterproof jacket comes with storm cuffs and a full zip and it’s available in 3 colors. The pants that complement the jacket are built for perfect fit due to a cleverly designed adjustable hem, and they’re offered in multiple lengths.
Another new arrival is the SWING TECH Waffle Fleece, which is also brand spanking new for the company, making for one-of-a-kind high-tech mid-layer built using a 4-way stretch polyester/spandex blended fabric which confers the ideal mélange of playability, warmth and protection from the weather, as well as the ideal range of motion during your swings. The SWING TECH Waffle Fleece benefits from a high-tech thermal lining, which provides you with superior warmth regardless of the temperature outside, and on top of that, you’ll get UV Block UPF 50 protection, which means your skin will be perfectly safe in the improbable eventuality the sun will shine again in the Highlands this autumn. And yes, we’re talking about the so-called harmful UV radiation and all that jazz. If you’re already sold, you must learn that the new SWING TECH Waffle Fleece is available in no less than 8 colors as well as Big & Tall sizing.
Moving along with our story, we have the SWING TECH Outlast ¼ Zip, which makes for a state of the art/highly advanced mid weight layering, and since we’re talking about Callaway 2019 gear, it comes with the glorious SWING TECH technology, which is aimed at helping you play your favorite game unrestricted, regardless of the weather outside. The ¼ zip pullover boasts a technology initially developed for NASA, and we’re not kidding either: enter Outlast® technology, which consist of PCM materials, also known as phase change materials, which are perfectly capable (and willing) to absorb, store and release heat, i.e. this is the ultimate piece of golf gear if you’re looking for optimal thermal comfort, NASA approved and all that. The UV Block UPF 50 protection is also here to stay, and the Outlast ¼ zip can be ordered in no less than 5 colors, making for a performance driven and highly versatile layer, built to last and ready to take the elements head-on.
But wait, there’s more: enter the SWING TECH Wind shirts, which are available in 3 different styles, short sleeve, ¼ zip and full zip respectively; but what’s really important is that these babies are built to last, as they use Repel technology which gives them excellent resistance to water and wind. The Swing Tech technology is obviously included in the “package”, along with the usual high-quality 4 way stretch fabric for better range of motion, plus toggle hems and adjustable storm cuffs. Oh yes, these wind shirts are taking the golf business seriously, being built to please golfers looking for gear to achieve peak performance. There’s also a High Gauge Full Zip Vest available in the 2019 Weather Series, which is crafted using an insulated (and very soft) thermal fabric. The vest can be ordered in 3 distinct color ways, and it’s built to provide excellent comfort while keeping it “classy” on the battlefield, i.e. the vest is stylish enough, so you won’t look weird, whether you wear it on the golf course or at the pub after a few rounds of golf. The High Gauge Full Zip Vest is built from 4 way stretch polyester/spandex fabrics for delivering maximum stretch, and has a front zip which can be adjusted easily.
Don’t worry, because Callaway didn’t forget about women golfers, hence the new collection features Women’s Weather Series too. The women apparel collection is built following a modular approach of sorts and offers multiple wearing options, all designed with performance and comfort in mind. Needless to say, the Women’s Weather Series incorporates SWING TECH technology via articulated and ergonomic seams, and to give you just a hint about the new collection, we must mention the Mixed Media Quilted Jacket, the Full Zip Wind & Water Resistant Jacket, the Floral Jacquard and Printed Sun Protection ¼ Zip, the Swing Tech Lightweight Fleece and the Coolmax Cardigan Sweater.
If all this sounds interesting to you, the good news is that you can order anything you like from the 2019 Men’s and Women’s Weather Series collections by visiting Callaway’s official website, or, why not, at select retailers all across the United States, and at golf and country clubs around the world.
