Bushnell decided to replace their “Ghost” GPS device with a phantom, and I mean that literally, as the company released recently their latest Phantom GPS gizmo. The “late” Neo Ghost was a high quality entry level GPS, and the new kid on the block, the Bushnell Phantom respectively, has inherited its best features, but with a “Bite” on top. The new Bushnell Phantom comes preloaded with more than 36,000 golf courses from all around the world, and features a high-res crystal clear display, with great sunlight legibility, to provide you with simple to understand front, back and middle of the green distances/yardages.
As expected, the company's proprietary Bite technology is incorporated into the new Phantom GPS device, and Bushnell also added a strong magnet into the Phantom's innards, so you can easily attach it to your belt, your golf bag, trolley or whatever metallic surface, thus allowing the device to provide you with accurate distance intel at a glance. Needless to say, the new Bushnell Phantom GPS comes with Bluetooth connectivity, so you can sync the device to your smartphone via the company's free app, for course update information and easy access to features. The Phantom comes in a sleek and youthful design, and it's available in Red, Black, Neon Yellow and Electric Blue colorways, being capable of displaying up to 4 lay up or hazard distances per hole. When synced to your smartphone via Bushnell's dedicated GPS app, the Phantom GPS will provide you with a shot distance calculator, auto hole and auto course recognition and also with better autonomy readouts for the device, i.e. this baby will last you up to 2 rounds of golf before requiring charging. The Bushnell Phantom GPS is available at all major retailers for $99.99 (MSRP).
