Hybrids Explained |

The Titleist 816 H1 putters are arguably some of the biggest ones available on the market today, and I really mean huge! That can be a little bit disconcerting for folks who see Titleist as being a player's brand, and I bet that any other company trying to play the “huge” angle would have been flamed on absolutely any golf forum; but, Titleist being Titleist, gets a waiver.
Okay, maybe I am exaggerating a bit, but these really are enormous putters, that's the first thing that caught my attention. In terms of sound and feel, the Titleist 816 H1 is a decent piece of golf gear, following the current “head heavy” trend, feeling relatively dull upon ball impact and sounding…how should I put it…loud, yet not very lively. There's not a very distinct feeling of the ball jumping off the club's face, and that's a little bit confusing, to say the least.
However, on the good side, there are a lot of loft options to choose from, and that's great, also the Sure Fit technology offers excellent adjustability options. Basically, you can “fine-tune” these hybrids in virtually limitless combos of face angle and loft, and that's pretty awesome. Also, there are 5 shafts you can choose from, without additional cost, and that means you got all your profiles/range of weights covered. Long story short, the Titleist 816 H1 hybrids can be fit with outstanding accuracy. So, if you're looking for long game performance, achieved through superior technology, an enhanced launch trajectory and a confidence-inspiring profile (and size), well, these may be it.
