Born in Halmstad in Sweden, in 1972, Andersson Hed turned professional in 1992. At the time his surname was just Andersson. He added his wife’s surname to his after his marriage in 2004. Since turning professional, Andersson Hed has played on the Challenge Tour, the European Tour and the PGA Tour. His level of success has been limited, and he has often found himself having to participate at qualifying school. Andersson Hed won his first title on the European Tour in 2010, at the BMW Italian Open. This was his best year on the tour, when he finished in 22nd place on the Order of Merit.

Away from the golf course, Andersson Hed is a family man. He is married to Anna, and the couple has two children, Viggo and Molly.

As of the end of 2014, Andersson Hed had yet to achieve a win on the PGA Tour, but had amassed total prize money of $104,682.
