After graduating from the University of Arkansas in 1988, Grob turned pro. He plied his trade on the various mini Tours to be found across the United States for a number of years. Grob played on the Nationwide Tour in 1999 and very nearly captured a PGA Tour card after finishing the season 34thin the standings (top 30 gains a card for the main Tour). Grob attended Q School at the end of 2002 and gained his first ever PGA Tour card after finishing in the last eligible place in a tie for 34th.
He played 27 times in his rookie season, making the cut on 14 occasions. He had two top 10s, a tie for 5th at the B.C. Open and a tie for 10th at the Reno-Tahoe Open. He would end his rookie season 150th on the money list and therefore lost his card. He had conditional status the following season on the PGA Tour, playing 13 times but only making 5 cuts and had no top 25 finishes. He has only played to events on the Tour since. Grob began playing on the Canadian Tour and achieved some success. He has won six times on the Tour (his latest win came in 2009 at the City of Surrey Invitational) and is the all-time leading money winner on the Tour. He became eligible for the Champions Tour in 2015 and has played in one event to date.
