With his distinctive flowing locks and exciting style of play, Victor Duibisson is demonstrating the potential to become a big star in both Europe and the United States.
Duibisson was a highly accomplished amateur player. He captured the 2009 European Amateur Championship and was ranked the #1 amateur player in the world. Duibisson completed as an amateur in professional events on multiple occasions.
Duibisson completed in the 2010 European Tour qualifying tournament and played well enough to capture his tour card for the 2011 season. Victor had a fairly successful rookie season, finishing 52nd on the tour’s “Race to Dubai” money list.
The 2013 season marked a significant uptick in Duibisson’s career. He won his first European Tour event – the Turkish Airlines Open. He would go on to record 7 top ten finishes that year and climbed to 6th on the money list.
In 2014, Duibisson continued his momentum by making it to the finals of the WCG Accenture Match Play Championship. He lost in a thrilling 23-hole final to Jason Day, but the huge purse produced a big pay day and also gave Duibisson special temporary PGA Tour membership.
Later that season, Duibisson recorded his first top ten in a Major championship – 9th place at the British Open. He followed that up at the season’s last Major with a 7th place finish at the PGA Championship.
Duibisson capped off his year by playing on the victorious European Ryder Cup team.
Victor was inspired to take up golf as a 7-year old after watching Tiger Woods capture his first Masters title in 1997.
