Robert Harold Lohr was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and was raised in Milford, Ohio. After graduating high school he studied at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio where he played on the golf team. While he was at college Lohr won All-American honors in his senior year, as well as winning All-MAC honors in his first three years at college.
After turning professional in 1983, Lohr first played on the PGA Tour in 1985, and continued playing on the Tour until 1996. Three times on the Tour, Lohr was tied for first place at the end of regular play. He won one of the events, the 1988 Walt Disney/Oldsmobile Classic, on the fifth hole of the playoff. He lost the other two playoffs. During his PGA Tour career Lohr’s best finish in a major was when he finished in a tie for thirty third place.
After his PGA Tour career Lohr went on to play on the Nationwide Tour.
Away from the golf course Lohr lives in Orlando, Florida. In 1993 he was inducted into the Miami University Athletics Hall of Fame.
As of the end of 2014, Lohr had achieved one win on the PGA Tour, amassing prize money of $2,417,060.
