Golf runs in the family for Adam Hadwin; his father Jerry was a gold club professional, and a member of the Canadian PGA. It seems that maybe Hadwin was destined to pick up a golf club even before he was born. Hadwin played from a very young age at Ledgeview Golf Club, and he was a member of the RCGA 2008 Canadian men's amateur team. Such was his talent that Hadwin attended the University of Louisville on a golf scholarship, where he studied business. His golfing star seemed set to continue to rise.

In 2009 Hadwin returned to his roots with a first professional win at the Ledgeview Open. This was the first of four events on the Vancouver Golf Tour (VGT), he won in his inaugural professional year; an impressive start. After joining the Canadian Tour the following year, Hadwin competed in his first PGA event, the RBC Canadian Open where he was the top Canadian finisher.

2010 was a good year for Hadwin as he achieved six top 10 finishes on the Canadian Tour. The improvement in form continued in 2011 when he was the top Canadian finisher at the U.S. Open, winning $41,154; this was the first time Hadwin had competed in a major championship. This success was followed by another strong showing at the RBC Canadian Open where he finished joint fourth and won the biggest prize of his career, $228,800. At this point he was riding a career high, at 214 in the world rankings.

2012 was a mixed year for Hadwin when he made thirteen out of twenty-five cuts but only finished 30th in the earnings rankings and failed to earn a PGA Tour card. This meant that throughout the 2013/2014 season he competed on the Web.com Tour, gaining a PGA Tour card for the 2014/2015 season by topping the list of earners for the combined regular season and Web.com Tour Finals.

Off the course Adam is a fan of the Angry Birds app, which he regularly plays on his Blackberry, maybe it helps to relive the stress of professional golf. Hadwin also has a long held ambition to visit the Great Wall of China.

As of the end of 2014 Hadwin had competed in eleven PGA Tour events and had failed to achieve a win. He has amassed total prize money of $473,676.
