Russell Knox is a 29 year old Scottish professional, currently playing on the US PGA Tour. He was a winner on the Hooters Tour, so just below the PGA Tour, he stepped up and he is now in the world’s top 50 players. A very exciting prospect and a very, very good in proficient golf swing. One of the best things that Russell Knox does with his swing is he keeps it very, very compact. There’s no real loose moving parts it’s all working in symmetry and harmony with together. Now one of the ways he does that is during the backswing. He keeps the right arm quite close to the body, so he doesn’t let it drift away he keeps it in nice and close. He keeps that in close while extending outwards, so he keeps it in close but he really just pushed the club away from it at the same time.
Now from there he gets the left arm very close to the chest, with the right arm remaining in. It’s a very, very compact position. And from there, he moves his weight forwards, turns into impact and produces a fantastic position at this point. It’s a very, very good golf swing; it’s a very, very proficient golf swing with not a lot of things going wrong. Now if it’s repeatable as it is with Russell you can apply this to your game and really hit some very, very good shots. So keep the right arm in, extend the left arm across the chest during the backswing, and then just move down and through. And if you can get those things working together, you’ll hit some very, very, very nice shots.
