What Is The Definition Of A Proper Golf Swing (Video) - by Peter Finch

What is the definition of a Proper golf swing? Now in golf you will have noticed especially amongst the very best players in the world that everyone swings the club differently. If you compare a Jim Ferrier to a Rory Mcllroy you’ll soon see that they swing the club in contrastingly different ways, absolutely polar opposite when they hit the ball. And yet somehow they are able to get that ball to where they want it to go. Now what this means is there is no such thing as a proper golf swing; the only thing which would define a proper golf swing is that it gets the ball to where you want it to go.

So your proper golf swing could have a massively outer wing swing path and you could hit 60 yards of slice spin on that ball, but if it gets to the target consistently and you are happy with it that is a proper golf swing. The opposite could be true when you go massively in the inside and hit a big a racking hook, but if that ball gets towards the target and where you want it to go that is a proper golf swing. And if you don’t think that’s true have a look at the Masters Champion of 2014 Bubba Watson and he shapes the ball exactly that way on contrasting probably one shot after the other. And he’s happy with that and that is a proper golf swing for him. So if you have a swing which works don’t be too kind of caught up in the technical aspects of the swing, don’t try and get the perfect play and the perfect impact positions, just trust it, if your ball goes to where you want it to go for you that is a proper golf swing. And don’t you worry about what anyone else says because you are probably taking the money and they are probably a little bit annoyed.
