So if you’ve now committed to making the change to the Zack Johnson super strong grip and you’ve worked hard on driving that lower body through the ball to make sure you’re not hitting the ball too far left, the next change might be actually to take this new movement and actually implement it out on the golf course for real.

So when you make this change out in the golf course, you got to be careful of a couple of key factors. Now, the first thing you might notice is that you’re actually hitting the golf ball lower and potentially further than you did do before particularly if you’ve changed to this draw flight and before that, you had a fade flight. So a fade flight would be the left to right for the right-handed golfer and the drawer would now be the right to left. The right to left flight would now – would experience a lower ball flight potentially a further ball flight. And certainly when the ball lands, we would probably see the ball rolling on further as well. So we need to be careful that when we go and play, our club selection reflects this newfound extra distance and extra roll particularly. The other consideration might be that we actually aim the ball in a different direction to compensate for the fact we’re no longer to move the ball left to right, but we now might be moving it right to left with your Zack Johnson grip. So if previously you had a weaker grip and you faded the ball, chances are, that you’re aiming down the left-hand side expecting the ball to cut back on to the fairway. But if now, the new Zack Johnson grip and lower body action is creating a draw, that leftward aim is really going to put you in trouble because we’re going to drag the ball down the left-hand side. So if Zack and a lot of other players draw the ball with a strong grip, that probably picking target slightly to the right of the green and certainly right of the flag hitting the ball down that right-hand side and expecting the ball to draw back in. So go ahead and experiment when you go on the golf course, maybe in a couple of practice rounds in low pressure situations where you actually pick targets at the right-hand side of the fairway or the right-hand side of the green, then implement your stronger grip position, your full shoulder turn with good balance, swinging out to the right-hand side as you drive with your legs and let your hands turn the ball from right to left. Pick the correct target, pick the correct club, and see how Zack Johnson’s stronger grip can improve your game.
