Na Yeon Choi is a Korean golfer 27 years old, who won her first US Open Championship, in July 2012. It’s her only major to date, but she is predicted to have a very successful career on the LPGA Tour. And one of the reasons why she is predicted to have a such a good career and one of the reasons why she is such a good player, is she managed to get the club head, into some very consistent positions, throughout the backswing and the through swing. Now on the backswing, she hits the same position, time after time after game; with the irons and with the driver. She herself set up very nicely, good strong posture, takes the club away, and it comes right into this position, so it sits in front of her hands when viewed from down the line. Now this extension of the left arm and the straightness of the left shaft – straightness of the shaft, is a very wide take away. But as the club head sits in front of the hands here is also on playing. She swings up to the top, returns it to a very similar position, and then moves through the ball by turning her hips. It’s a very simple and it’s a very effective action. And to practice this, all you really need to do, is get yourself set up, rehearse that position, back down to impact, and then just try and repeat. A very consistent golf swing for a very consistent golfer and certainly one to watch in the future.
