Jaidee was born in Thailand in 1969. Since turning professional in 1999 he has spent most of his time playing on the Asian Tour and the European Tour. During his time playing on the Asian Tour, Jaidee has been first on the Order of Merit on three occasions. Jaidee is unusual as a golfer in that he didn’t start playing until he was sixteen years old, and he didn’t turn professional until he was thirty. Before turning professional he spent time in the Royal Thai Army.
Despite not turning professional until a relatively late age, it didn’t take Jaidee long to achieve success on the Asian Tour. He first topped the Order of Merit just two years after turning professional. Three years later he achieved his first win on the European Tour, at the Carlsberg Malaysian Open, which was co-sanctioned with the Asian Tour. He was successful in defending the title the following year.
In 2006, Jaidee entered the top 75 of golf’s World Rankings for the first time. His victory at the Volvo Masters of Asia helped him to achieve this. In 2012 Jaidee achieved another win on the European Tour, at the ISPS Handa Wales Open. The following year he finished in 9th place on the European Tour Order of Merit.
Jaidee received a tremendous honor in 2015 when he became the first player from Thailand to be named in the Presidents Cup squad.
As of the end of 2014, Jaidee had not achieved any wins on the PGA Tour, but had amassed total prize money of $392,818.
