A native of Utah, Scott Pinckney’s family eventually moved to Arizona where he played high school golf at Boulder Creek High and collegiate golf for the Arizona State University Sun Devils.

Then instead of trying to qualify for the Web.com Tour as money top American college players do, Pinckney traveled to Europe.  He played European Tour events in late 2011 and then earned his European Tour card for the 2012 season by finishing in 21st place at the year-end qualifying school tournament.  Pinckney shot 65 in the final round of Q-school to secure his spot on tour.

In 2013, Pinckney decided to move back to the United States.  Late that season he qualified for the 2014 Web.com Tour where he played well enough to earn his PGA Tour card for the 2015 season.

In 2015, Pinckney fired four consecutive rounds under par to finish 2nd at the AT&T Byron Nelson Classic.  Through the end of July, Pinckney has posted 3 top-10’s and made more than $1.2 million on tour.

Pinckney continues a friendship with Rory McIlroy whom he met when both boys were 8 year olds at the Doral Junior Publix – a high profile junior tournament in Florida.  Four years later, as a 12 year old, McIlroy traveled to the U.S.  and spent three months living with Pinckney and his family in Utah while the boys practiced and traveled together to junior tournaments.
