Homa had a very successful amateur career. He played college golf at the University of California where he was a first team All American. He was the NCAA Division 1 Individual Champion in 2013. He lost to the defending champion (and college team mate) An Byeong-hun at the 2010 Us Amateur Championship. Homa represented the United States at the 2013 Walker Cup and turned pro shortly after. Homa played eight times on the PGA Tour in 2014, making one top 10. He came in a tie for 9th at his first PGA Tour event, the Frys.com Open. He played 18 times on the Web.com Tour in 2014, making the cut on 13 occassions. He had three top 10s including a win at the BMW Charity Pro-Am. He ended the season 17th I the standings and earned his first ever PGA Tour card as a result.
So far in 2015, Homa has played in 23 events, making the cut on 10 occassions. His sole top 10 finish came at the Sony Open in Hawaii where he finished in a tie for 6th place. He has some work to do to regain his PGA Tour card for the following season. He has played in one Major Championship, the 2013 US Open which he qualified for as an amateur. He missed the cut at Merion Golf Club.
