    Hubbard had a successful college career when playing at San Jose University. He was an All-American pick for three years. He won twice during his college career including at the 2011 Western Athletic Conference Championship. He turned pro after graduating in 2012. After turning pro, Hubbard played on a few different mini Tours in the United States while also playing on the Canadian Tour. In 2013 on the Canadian Tour, Hubbard had four top 10s including his first pro win which came at the Wildfire Invitational. He would finish 7th in the Tour Championship and ended the year 3rd on the money list. This secured him a Web.com Tour card for the following season.

    In his rookie season on the Web.com Tour, Hubbard played 24 times, making the cut on 19 occasions. He had nine top 25 finishes including six top 10s. His best result of the season came at the United Leasing Championship Presented by PTI where he was a tie for runner-up with Ryan Armour and finished a single stroke behind Englishman Greg Owen. Hubbard would finish his rookie year 18th in the Web.com standings and as a result secured his first ever PGA Tour card for the following season.

    Hubbard has played in 20 events so far in 2015, making the cut on 14 occasions. He has two top 25 finishes with his best result coming at the Humana Challenge in partnership with the Clinton Foundation where he ended the week in a tie for 20th. He received widespread media attention after proposing to his girlfriend at the 18th hole after his first round at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
